Your wilderness hosts Beat & Jackie offer taylor-made dog sledding trips and tours in Canada's True North - the Yukon Territory. In the months of February and March they offer 4-days and 8-days dog sledding tours with experienced guides and small groups of maximum three teams. Your hosts have experience for more than 30 years in dog mushing including the world's toughest sled dog race the 1000 Miles Yukon Quest Sled Dog Race.
Safety for you and the dogs are the priorities of your dog mushing hosts. The wilderness and often harsh weather can take toll on both the participants and the dogs. So it's natural that taking good care of the dogs will result in happier mushing trips with the clients.

The small husky yard of 20 dogs doesn't allow many dog teams per tour. Each participant will harness and run 3-5 huskies after a 2-3 hrs. introduction course in handling and safety of dogs and the use of sleds and harnesses.

4-days Husky Lite Tour: (Sunday - Wednesday) with an introduction to dog sledding and 2 days of mushing trips of 10 - 20 miles lengths each.

8-days Yukon Winter Dream Tour: (Saturday - Sunday) incl. introduction to dog sledding, 7 overnight stays in lodge and on 5 days dog mushing trips. No experience in dog sledding required! Ideal for beginners and older participants.

Terms of participation

The detailed determinations below are part of all excursions / tours and individual services and activities of Tagish Wilderness Lodge and therefore are part of the contract between tour operator and guests of Tagish Wilderness Lodge. Changes in tours and programs are subject to alterations.

Reservation:
At time of booking 20% of the total amount or CA$ 500.00 is due (non refundable) to hold your reservation. The remaining amount must be paid 60 days prior arrival. Short-term booking must to be paid completely prior arrival by VISA / MC or bank transaction.

Cancellation:
Up to 90 days before arrival: 20% of the booking amount will be charged.
89 - 30 days before arrival: 50% of the total amount will be charged
29 - 0 days before arrival: 100% of the total amount will be charged
unless a replacement can be arranged by the withdrawing clients.

Cancellations and/or change of routes as of act of God, weather, strikes or disturbances remain subject to alterations. Payments will completely be refunded unless a tour or program can be undertaken in parts or completely. Compensation claims are not possible.

Passport- and Visa requirements: All participants of tours / programs of the Tagish Wilderness Lodge require a valid document of identification and/or a valid visa of Canada. No refunding will be made due to non-valid documents and refusal of entry into Canada.

Insurance: It is recommended to conclude an insurance of cancellation costs and liability as well as for health and accidents.

Liability: All activities, programs and tours at Tagish Wilderness Lodge are subject of uncontrollable risks, such as accident or/and illness. All participants of tours, excursions or on rentals have to sign a waiver. ( LIABILITY WAIVER ).
